What Our Customers Are Saying...

The service was perfect! The eggs florentine were a little on the bland side though.

One of the finest eating experiences in a long time. Special call out for calimari appetizer and rack of lamb.

The restaurant staff was wonderful in accommodating my family for my step-father’s 70th birthday. With a large party (22), this can be a trick. The food and atmosphere were wonderful and my family has a great time.

Located quite a way off the main street, the restaurant is on the ground floor of the eponymously named hotel. Upon entering the dining area you feel you are in a warm and comfortable room. The restaurant was nearly full on a Thursday lunch and quite clearly these were all locals and not tourists or visitors. The menu has a good variety of food though there is a Mexican flavor to many of the dishes. This is not a Mexican restaurant though. I had a very good butternut ravioli with ricotta... excellent. Service was good and professional. A definite place to return to.

Nice discovery! We were literally passing through town in a monsoon-like rain en route to Oakland. Picked Panama Cafe blindly off of Open Table and drove there for a late lunch. Great find! Nice, historic atmosphere, interesting menu, attentive service, good food and we were lucky to park close by. If we ever pass through again we will make a point to return.

Boutique hotel, very small and charming, with all the amenities you could want, including a fine restaurant with live music. With only 9 rooms or so, the hotel is often booked by a single family for a wedding or a reunion. It reminds me of the swanky old-fashioned bar in Casablanca, with swaying palms and tropical colors. Very special.

I visit clients in San Rafael several times a year. I stay exclusively at the Panama. It’s beyond charming and the food and music in combination are excellent.

We spent two nights in the hotel. Shout out to Ishan, our great server. The hotel has a wonderful gardener & it shows! We stayed in the garden room, had a delicious dinner & breakfast, and look forward to our return. Take the ferry turn Larkspar, and it’s a five-minute Uber ride to the hotel. Highly recommend.
